Spirit of Life,
Bless those who remember and mourn this day.
Send your peace to surround them
for their efforts did not make the wars
but their lives were consumed by them.

Great Comforter,
For those whose experience of war
is beyond what their imaginations can comprehend.
Haunted by images of anguish
sounds of horror
smells of death.
Grant them rest from their struggle.

Give us all the courage and selflessness
to answer the cry of the world's pain.
With our hands outstretched
our hearts overflowing,
with all our intelligence
let us create the peace
you long for in this world.
