Day Twenty and Six
God keep me humble.
Time again the question asked
"Who are you?"
Melissa DeRosia
"What do you do?"
I am a pastor.
"Oh."
Like somehow that isn't enough.
The sound tone of voice,
a slight tilting of the head.
My own discomfort with who I am.
Compelled to respond...
I serve higher governing bodies
that make me sound important.
Right?
Does the tone of voice change?
Body language shift?
Do I suddenly become someone?
It is tempting
to make it sound like I am someone.
That my sense of self importance gives me worth.
God you are the giver of life.
All that I am
All that I ever will be
rests in being your child.
